Everybody else is doing it

Okay, I’m so bored that I’m hopping on the bandwagon too… I’m creating an Amazon.com wishlist. Not that anyone is going to buy anything from it for me, but at least this way, when I’ve got a bit of extra money and want to buy myself a treat, I don’t have to go nuts trying to remember something that I really wanted to buy… I can just browse my wishlist.

I won’t make an Amazon wishlist because I do not like Amazon. It’s hard to find what I want, the sorting is confusing, and I don’t like encouraging Jeff Bezos and the “no profit in the forseeable future” business plan he’s encouraged.

Personally, I think it better to encourage patronage of local, preferably independent, bookstores and record shops.

Oh, I’m not encouraging anyone to buy things from amazon for me. I never buy anything online myself. I’m just using it as a reference for my mom (and she tells me that she’s already picked up a couple of those things for me… )

I’m rather partial to used bookstores, myself. And Pages, on Queen St. West in Toronto, cuz they sell indie chapbooks too.
