While I’m passing the time waiting to get the desire to go for lunch at shoeless Joe’s, I’ll ramble more about Cyn’s party thing last night, because daruba asked me to.
Jay & I hopped on the bus to the Subway (this is the boring part.) It took us about 25 minutes to get to Broadview & Danforth, where the restaurant is, and when we arrived, Aphyd, Denise, Gilgamesh and Becca were the only people there. Cyn had yet to arrive.
We sat down and chatted for a while, before the rest of the group arrived. I had Jay on one side of me and Aphyd on the other, although Aphyd at some point turned into Zoltan the magnificent. How could you not call him that with a name like Zoltan?? Anyhow, I had peach daiquiris, which were very very nice and peachy. Cyn got me hooked on them, damn her. 🙂
I’ve tried to explain to Jay before why Gilgamesh is such an interesting person to talk to, but I just couldn’t figure out how to say it. I’m glad he’s met Gilgamesh now… Gilgamesh is a rather intelligent and well-spoken fellow that is incredibly interesting to listen to. I feel a bit dumb trying to have a conversation with him, but he has a way of making people not feel dumb, somehow. So I just listen to him and try to learn stuff. I laughed a whole lot, even though there were a few people there I didn’t know, I was pretty comfortable. I laughed a whole lot, it was a very amusing evening. I was right in the middle of the table, I couldn’t hear any conversations from the far corners of the table, but I could hear everything in the middle to two sides of me. I listened more than I talked, as is usually the case.
Dinner went from 7ish til 10ish. We were home by 10:45 or so, and @home was still down. I think it’s still down today, too. I haven’t seen/heard from Jay all day. I think they’re going to owe us money back for missed days or something. sympatico still owes us 80$ from continuing to charge us for service two months after we cancelled it. Hope they send us that cheque soon, I’m rather annoyed with that.
