Greetings Jenny —
Here is your horoscope for Wednesday, April 18:
You want to match paces with those who are truly enjoying themselves,
but your heart is elsewhere. Libra is imagining a different, more
ideal universe. Try to achieve harmony where you are right now.

There was much harmony where I was today. Much indeed. I went to Ian’s place to practice for the Secret Show last night around 6:30 or so. We practiced late into the night, until it was far too late for me to take the subway home, so I just passed out there. Got up in the afternoon after sleeping fitfully most of the night, and we wandered around Kensington looking for food on 3$. The joy of kensington is that we were able to put together a really nice curry soup with baby carrots, broccoli, and green onions, on that 3$. I think, if I need to consider a cheap area to live in, I may have to look around there. I’m not looking yet, though. Too much else going on that I have to deal with first. Or maybe let happen. Whichever.

I’m dead tired tonight. I got home at 11pm tonight after much rehearsing for the show. We should kick some ass. Unless the flute solo kills me before the show. You never know with flute solos. They sneak up on you and attack you when you’re not paying any attention.

Life is a series of collisions with the future; it is not a sum of what we have been but what we yearn to be.
~ Jose Ortega y Gassett

I’m now reading Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. I started it late last night, I’ll be finished it by tomorrow. It’s really good. I’ve finished the first three of the Star Wars X-Wing books, I’ll have to get them back to their rightful owner and get the next few. So much to read. So very much.

so tired. I will sleep well tonight. If I don’t, I’ll cry. This sinus headache thing is damn frustrating. I think I’ll be all better by Sunday, though…

      🙂

I’m currently reading it myself…I don’t get much free time to read, but I do try to get in a few chapters before I go to sleep. It’s a great book and I’m a practicing Bokononist 🙂

There used to be an art glass studio near our house called “Ice Nine”

        It’s a great tribute to Cat’s Cradle

My Mom went to Shortridge high school in Indianapolis just a year after Vonnegut graduated from there. She said some of the characters’ last names are from the neighborhood 🙂
