    Good Morning JL.
    Feeling any better today?

    • Jenny Lee Silver

      September 19, 2001 at 6:29 am

I’m not feverish anymore. I do have a sore throat/cough thing going on, but I’m not all wiped out and shaking like last night. So Yeah, I guess I am feeling better… thanks. 🙂

      How’re you doing today?

      • brianlee

        September 19, 2001 at 6:37 am

I read that last night. Scary. Im hoping this is the beginning of a trend towards recovery from that ucky bug.
I’m doin fine. Muddling along as always.
        Any plans for the day?

        • Jenny Lee Silver

          September 19, 2001 at 6:43 am

Just working… same as yesterday. It’s not that busy here, though, so I don’t have much to do… so I get really bored. And I have no email, which means lj is my only connection to the outside world. That and the news sites, but I’m rather sick of reading those now…

          • brianlee

            September 19, 2001 at 6:46 am

Not much New news, I know.
Lots of rumor and speculation floating around.
Have you been using the time to write at all?
*I know, nag nag nag ;-)*

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 6:51 am

Oh, I’ve been writing… most of it observations on the nature of humanity and how people react, cope, etc. to extrenuous situations. All speculative stuff that I don’t think people want to see, nothing specifically creative… just observations. The only time creative things pop into my head are at 3am when I desperately need to sleep because I have to work the next day… and they’re gone by morning.

          • brianlee

            September 19, 2001 at 6:57 am

Ain’t that always the way it goes? I have put a pad of paper by the bed and tried jotting those mid-night thoughts down but wake to find things like “skunks must have low self esteem”. Im sure at 3am, that must have seemd profound but in the light of day you just have to scratch your head and laff.

            September 19, 2001 at 7:03 am

Indeed… Percival the purple platypus appeared out of sheer boredom one night. I don’t quite know what he wants me to do with him, but hey, there he is…

          • brianlee

            September 19, 2001 at 7:10 am

            Percival? LOL!
Classic. That will teach you to eat pizza rolls and jelly beans before bed. 😉

            September 19, 2001 at 7:42 am

            Mmmmmmm Jelly bellies….

heh. Now I’m hungry. Is it lunchtime yet?

          • brianlee

            September 19, 2001 at 7:52 am

It must be lunch time in SOME time zone…..
Do you have Jelly Bellies there? Yummmm

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 7:57 am

Oh yes… jelly bellies rock my world. The buttered popcorn flavour was the freakiest… I was NOT expecting that. 🙂

It’s 11am here… that means it’s lunch in the maritimes. So it’ll be lunch here soon. Yay!

          • brianlee

            September 19, 2001 at 8:06 am

Those are fun. The flavors are so bizarre.
            Mmm, lunch……gaaaaaa…

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 8:35 am

I brought chicken pad thai rice for lunch – leftovers from dinner last night. It should be super-good.

            September 19, 2001 at 10:15 am

It was yummerific. 🙂 Good thing I found a microwave to use. I’m happier when I’ve eaten. I like food…

            September 19, 2001 at 11:06 am

            September 19, 2001 at 11:29 am

Only problem now is, I’m thirsty. Oh well, find a water cooler, there must be some around here somewhere.

I just spent half an hour finding out what McCarthyism is. And now I know. Interesting, that. My mind is in a learning mode. This doesn’t happen often, and hasn’t happened in quite a while. Now I’m just sucking up everything I read.

            September 19, 2001 at 11:34 am

Check out “remote surgery”. Fascinating stuff.

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 11:41 am

I wonder if my Catheter Ablation would be considered remote surgery? 🙂

          • brianlee

            September 19, 2001 at 11:48 am

            no, yuckies.
            😉

More like tele-presence surgery. Remote controlled robots doing micro detailed surgery.

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 11:51 am

Yah… so I saw when I looked it up. really cool stuff, but I don’t know how I’d deal with it if it were me…

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 11:46 am

Wow. That’s some pretty fascinating stuff, in a creepy kind of way. I don’t know if I could deal with that if I was awake for it… if I’m under, I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference anyhow… but wow.

I don’t know exactly why that bothers me like that… It’s not like humans don’t make mistakes, but I guess I’ve read too much sci-fi with machines that go psychotic and out of control. Heh.

            September 19, 2001 at 11:51 am

I read an article by a guy a few weeks ago that said we are going to learn more about medicine and healing in the next 20 years than we have in the last 1000.

If you get bored with that subject, check out sandia national labs web site. Got some cool micromachine research going on amoung other things

Hi sweetie. You need me to bith-slap The Universe for you today? Because I’m already waiting in line, I might as well kill two birds with one stone or something like that.

    Are you working? no email?

    • Jenny Lee Silver

      September 19, 2001 at 6:48 am

Yep, working, so no email. I learned last week that they actually specifically blocked webmail sites. Afraid of viruses, I guess. Oh well.

Please, bith-slap the universe for me… that would be splendid. I don’t think the universe likes me much this week.

      How’s work?

    • lafemmezilla

      September 19, 2001 at 6:48 am

hmm…i guess i could read what you were writing while i was writing my reply. DOH.

      • Jenny Lee Silver

        September 19, 2001 at 6:56 am

        Hehe… s’okay.

Uhh. happy jewish new year? 🙂

        • lafemmezilla

          September 19, 2001 at 7:07 am

          happy jewish new year!!! *MWAH!*

work is kinda dull. i wish i had free long distance at work or something silly. i tried to install ircle yesterday and it still wouldn’t let me connect. must be something in the firewall.

the line to bith-slap The Universe is getting shorter. I’ll let you know when i get there…you got anything you want me to relay to Her besides the slap?

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 7:13 am

You should talk to what’s-his-name. I’ll bet he can set something up for you to get into IRC around the firewall… There must be something similar for macs, anyhow.

Yeah, tell her I’d a bag of tostitos and some spicy cheese dip when I get home from work. And a Tim Horton’s to open on my block.

          • lafemmezilla

            September 19, 2001 at 7:23 am

ohhhh yeah, whats-his-name. yeah, like…that one guy? heh. i’m really not sure how much rule bending i want to do here though.

tostitos and spicy cheese sound good. i’ll come over and bring tim horton’s and we can eat spicy cheese and tostitos and stuff.

I know! let’s put spicy cheese on the cats and watch them lick it off each other! that’ll be fun!

            god i’m bored.

            September 19, 2001 at 7:38 am

Teeheehee… Dayle would love that. 🙂 Freak.

You know… that guy… with the hair… and the stuff…

I just had break. It was pretty boring, much like the rest of my time here. Can’t wait til lunchtime, when I get to *gasp* eat.

            I’m so obsessed with food.

          • lafemmezilla

            September 19, 2001 at 8:14 am

i know a few guys with hair. i also know some guys who have stuff. even more surprising…i know guys who have hair *and* stuff.

i’m starving! and poor. but soon it’ll be break time and i’ll be going to find something to eat. yay food.

            September 19, 2001 at 8:32 am

            Hrmmm

guess I could be more specific, but that’d be no fun at all.

I have leftovers from dinner last night for lunch. I’m so excited! And i can eat in half an hour!

surfing through the reincarnation forum. Weirdness.

            I’m cold.

          • lafemmezilla

            September 19, 2001 at 8:38 am

            no need to be specific.

i think it’s a roasted chicken mashed potato day today. only 50 minutes til lunch!

did i ever tell you about my past life? i died.

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 10:08 am

Really?? That’s too bad. Sorry about that.

Mmmmmm mashed potatoes… My leftovers rocked, though.

          • lafemmezilla

            September 19, 2001 at 10:22 am

my mashed potatos rocked too. now i need a nap. mmmm, nap.

my stomach is doing all kinds of crazy somersaults.

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 10:33 am

Mmm… nice, warm bed with warm kitty bodies and the haven that is sleep, sweet sleep…

            *sigh*

            Can I go home now?

          • lafemmezilla

            September 19, 2001 at 10:40 am

ooooh…warm kitty bodies! mine was curled up in a little fluffball this morning next to my stomach. we cuddled. he’s so nice 🙂

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 10:49 am

Mmmmm… nothing so nice as cuddling. Except maybe cuddling with someone who can make you a cup of tea when you’re sick…

          • lafemmezilla

            September 19, 2001 at 10:57 am

or better yet, someone who will make you a cup of tea when you aren’t sick. cuddling is so under-rated.

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 11:24 am

            Mmmm… yeah, that too.

So I’ve spent the afternoon educating myself. I just learned what McCarthyism is. They don’t teach us these things in canadian history class…

            September 19, 2001 at 11:27 am

          • Jenny Lee Silver

            September 19, 2001 at 11:30 am

I think I’ll have to write fneuism myself. I’ll leave you to violetism 🙂

          • lafemmezilla

            September 19, 2001 at 11:59 am

sorry, i am currently researching cuddleism. i supposedly have a fan club…i could contract them out to research violetism, i suppose.

            September 19, 2001 at 12:23 pm

Hmm… now that sounds like a good idea if I’ve ever heard one. I say go for it. 🙂 You could pay back the fan club with your findings on cuddlism…

            September 19, 2001 at 12:47 pm

      Re: hiya!

It’s fallish and supposed to rain this afternoon… I haven’t been outside much, just long enough to walk to the corner and catch my streetcar.

The day has been slow and boring, much like every other day at this placement. There’s been one call so far. I can expect another three or four calls throughout the day. This has to be the least busy reception switchboard I’ve ever worked…

      How’re you?

        Re: hiya!

Well, the weather sounds nice, anyhow… still warm and moist, here in the subtropics.

My day’s only just beginning, but so far so good. Caught some loving from the Newton-cat, and picked up another chapter in the writing book by Stephen King.

What other things are you doing to keep yourself busy? discovered any new sites, now that some are closed off?

        • Jenny Lee Silver

          September 19, 2001 at 7:41 am

          Re: hiya!

haven’t really discovered much that’s new… trying to avoid all the sites that are focussed on or have discussions about the past week’s events, which is most of them it seems. There’s only so much discussion I can take on that before I lose it completely.

Oh, I have started reading forums about reincarnation to pass the time. A friend of mine’s mother sent me there when I couldn’t sleep last week. Heh… my friends’ parents always seem to end up adopting me somehow…

            http://www.coudal.com/archives/museum.html

museum of online museums. very nify. 🙂

How do you feel about reincarnation… does it seem viable to you? I’m the same way, more adopted by pals folks… wanting to feed and hug. It’s a good gig.

            Re: hiya!

I reserve my opinions on the afterlife until I’m able to experience it for myself. 🙂 That way, I don’t get into any heated discussions of who’s right and who’s wrong. I read everything I come across, though… a few days ago, I read the entire book of Matthew from the new testament – not because I’m Christian, but because I was curious. I do, however, believe in spirituality over organized religion. I just try not to discuss it with people too much, since most people get really passionate about things like that.

Gathering info is generally a good thing, knowing what viewpoints are available. (I’m with you on the afterlife thing, by the way.)

I’m a sucker for gathering info… when I get obsessed, I read every last piece of info I can find on a topic until I know all there is to be known about it. It passes the time, at least…
