If I ache this much tonight, I’m afraid of what tomorrow will bring…

Today we went to Belli‘s to pick up my bike. I’ve never actually used it, it’s the one I bought last summer at Value Village for $6.50 – a women’s Raleigh ten speed. We took it over to a gas station and put air in the tires, and learned that it actually doesn’t have any holes in it. I was impressed. It has no back brakes, but since the last bike I had didn’t have any back brakes either, I’m fairly used to that.

Then Adam and Ian and I went to Ian’s place and picked up his bike. Adam had brought his with us when we left. By that time it was maybe 3pm. We started biking at around 3:30pm, down into the Don Valley from Pape & Gerrard, then up the trail into some park by O’Connor and I don’t know where, then we got lost in the part where St. Clair disappears and went in a huge circle back to O’Connor, where we decided to go north to Eglinton. By the time we got to Eglinton, we figured we should head for the subway station at Eglinton and Yonge and just take the subway home.

We got on the Subway at 8:30pm. That’s five hours of biking. Yahoo. I ache. I will ache more tomorrow. To hell with starting slow! I haven’t biked in five years, I need to catch up fast damnit! Or something. I’d estimate we went between 25-35 km today (getting lost was at least 10 of that.) And I feel so good. So glad my bike works… mostly…

Now we’re going to figure out what to have for dinner and watch a movie. Then I’ll bet we’re all going to pass out and sleep in. Good thing I don’t work tomorrow, I don’t think I could drag myself in if I tried.
