    Low Carb Options

Hi there, I was a huge carb person and have been low carb since the beggining of the year. You will lose your cravings for them after a couple of days of being low carb, so that makes it easier. I like to snack on nuts, some celery with herbed cream cheese, and cheese sticks. There are some really good websites with low carb recipes. http://WWW.atkinsonline.com is a great site. Good luck!

    Peanuts. Sunflower seeds. Other nuts.
Pickles with the wrapped pastrami/corned beef and cream cheese. Or plain pickles.
Cheese–just a huge chunk of it and a glass of red wine. That was my dinner/snack most of the time
Regular, real, high-fat dressing on salads. With cheese.
Eggs. Use a pinch of sugar substitute instead of sugar in deviled eggs. MMM. really!
    Shrimp. Shrimp cocktail!
    Beef jerky.
Cottage cheese. Put a trace amount of fruit in there for flavor, if you prefer.
    Green olives.

Those are just some of the snacks. Meals… any meat and a small amount of a vegetable (be sure to use butter!). Or a full dinner salad.

Most major bread companies have a light version. If it weighs in around 14 grams of carbs for 2 slices, that’s safe to eat… provided the other carbs for the day are non-existant.

    Low Carb Diet and Constipation

I have switched to the low carb and high protein/ fat diet and have been having problem with bowl movement. I don’t eat any fruit or veg. other than green salad with red meet or chicken for dinner. What would you recommend, please?

Re: Low Carb Diet and Constipation

Heh. I wouldn’t have anything to recommend… I’m not on a low-carb diet, as I know it wouldn’t be good for me. I have other nutritional issues I have to deal with, so low-carb’s a bad idea for me generally. I was asking on behalf of someone else offline. I’d suggest you look it up on an atkins diet page or something.
