I would like to state for the record that, if we, as a theatre, request the patrons to not wear colognes and perfumes to the shows for the comfort of other theatre patrons (aside from the asking them in the back of the program they receive at the theatre, who’s bright idea was that??) I think that we should also have, as a rule within the theatre that ushers and all theatre front of house staff can’t wear cologne or perfume.

I say this party for the comfort of the patrons, and partly because one of the women I work with uses WAY too much perfume and it gives me headaches, as does one of the men.

Perfume and cologne are BAD. BAD!

Thank you, that is all. I’d bring it up at work, but getting things changed for the better at that place is virtually impossible at the best of times. Something so ‘trivial’ as my bosses would see it as perfume would be laughed at. Especially since my manager wears a lot of perfume. She’s already biased.

She’s coming back from her Father’s funeral in Ireland tonight. I think I might wait a bit. The others at work tell me that she’s had a tendency in the past to take out her personal problems on people at work. I’m waiting to see if that is, indeed, true.

I can already tell you she’s not a very managerial manager. There are many things that aren’t quite right at work, and could easily be changed, but it goes against her rules so it will not be changed.

you could always tell the people directly.
very often when i’ve screwed up the courage to tell soemone that i’m allergic, and they are inadvertently making me ill, they are very apologetic and never do it again.

yeah, some people are jerks. but most are pretty okay
