food and phone phobias

Due to my inherent desire to never touch the telephone, I have ordered us lunch online to be delivered. Technology rocks. Later on after lunch and before work I think I want a booster juice. Oh food, how do I love thee.

I really should get over my dislike of the telephone. I tried being a receptionist to get over it, and all that did was make me hate it more. These days if I can avoid the phone I will. I’m sure it’s not an entirely healthy thing, however.

Now I must wait for the food to arrive.

Is that a LoonBurger you’re eating in that pic?

Nope… it’s bigger. This would be the pound and a half of beef that they put in the Coronary burger at the Double D (aka Dangerous Dan’s) in Toronto. I took a bite of Ian’s so he could take a picture of me doing so. I could never eat the whole thing myself. Good burgers there though – even normal-sized ones.

I hate the telephone too. It’s the one part of my new job I really don’t like; the cops will get on the radio and want me to call somebody, but they won’t tell me exactly what they want me to tell them, and it’ll be like 4 in the morning. Grrr.

I saw a woman on Oprah once who was on the phone constantly. While she was getting her kids breakfast, while she was eating meals with her family, while she was doing housework, while she was watching TV…it was ridiculous. She was on Oprah to help break the habit (it was not successful). I figure that not using the phone at all is a lot less unhealthy than being addicted to it.
