so. much. driving.

So I’m helping Adam’s brother jordy move this weekend on short notice because his dad hurt his back & can’t drive.

Today we drove from New Liskeard to Toronto. Tomorrow we go from Toronto to Ottawa. Monday we drive back to New Liskeard from Ottawa. That’s a minimum of five car hours per day all weekend, and no bed. Plus I had to leave Adam in New Liskeard all weekend because he’s working at the lodge. I miss him.

Jordy says (while meditating in front of the fan): It’s insanely hot.

He’s right. Toronto is crazy hot and humid. I’m so exhausted. And I’m supposed to stay at a friend’s place tonight, but I called his home & cell numbers and there was no answer. I left messages for him to call me here, but he hasn’t yet. Bleh. I may have to sleep here, but there’s nowhere here for me to sleep. Or rather, there will be nowhere here for someone to sleep, since jordy says if that happens he’ll let me take the couch. In which case he sleeps on a chair, I guess.

So tomorrow I’m driving the car by myself from Toronto to Ottawa. The last time I made that drive was to see my brother when he broke his back and was in the hospital for major reconstructive back surgery. On the way, the car broke down in Kingston and I had to find a cheap motel to stay in until I could fix the car the next day. It was actually one of the most liberating fun drives I ever had. Maybe I’m insane.

Holy crap I’m going to be overshadowed by mountains in three weeks time!!!!!

We’re heading down on Friday the 10th and staying until the 12th, I think. That’s the plan anyhow.
