The most uneventful day at the mountain EVER!

I went in to work this afternoon a little bit early so I could pick up my other two uniform shirts (I only had one.) It was raining. Yesterday we didn’t go out to get groceries because it was pouring. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be torrential downpours. And the province appears to be flooding. And they said climate change wasn’t real… Fortunately, I guess, I live on a hill and won’t get flooded out… I just might not be able to walk down the road due to it becoming a torrent of water.

Anyhow, moving on. It was so dead at the mountain today that the trammies said there had been only 10 people up by 2pm. I was there from 2 until 9 (we got out early.) Before I arrived, the outfitters store had had no sales. After I arrived, we didn’t even have any browsers, let alone sales. That’s right, a zero sale day. I didn’t even see another human being besides Hunter who dropped by to talk about games and Teen Girl Squad with me a couple of times.

I ended up organizing many things. Things that haven’t been organized in a very long time, I think. I even pulled lots of crap out from behind a drawer that wouldn’t close for as long as I’ve worked there.

There was a mudslide on a highway bypass near my mother’s place. Not right next to it or anything, but close enough. I hope the dykes are enough to keep her house dry. They’re pretty big dykes, but still.

Tomorrow is going to be equally boring, I am sure. I just hope they don’t make me organize gloves. I despise organizing gloves.

So yeah. Way above average temperatures in Ontario followed by a cold snap. Way above average rainfall in BC, followed by another tropical storm due the day after this one is over. Things are strange.

note about not doing things cause it’s raining.
    you’ll starve.

ok, ok, i understand, it’s raining here much harder than it normally does. but really….we really just do learn to do things in the rain.

that said, i hate walking home with groceries in the rain.

Heh. Yes. We were going to get groceries after work tomorrow in the rain, but now adam won’t be home, and I can’t carry enough on my own. He’s going to get enough for us to get by for the next few days until we can both go together.

You have no idea how hard it is not to make jokes EVERY SINGLE TIME I mention the dykes by my mom’s house. A joke from Good Morning Vietnam pops into my head all the time when I think about it. 😀
