I had bad dreams about the wedding going horribly wrong most of the night. I would wake up from one dream, look around and be relieved that it wasn’t real, fall back asleep, and land smack in another dream. All this and the wedding is still seven months away. GAH!
I spoke to the Lodge, they’re thrilled that we’re having the event there. I’ll have to talk to people who want to stay there. She’d like to have people booked by June for the rooms and such. I don’t know who’s going to want to stay… the bunkhouses sleep 28 or so, and there are 5 rooms that sleep anywhere from 2-4 or so. Plus the lawn where people with tents can camp out.
Mom told me that Merv might not be able to go. One of Adam’s groomsmen can’t go because his band is playing that weekend, and one of my bridesmaids has a similar conflict and can’t make it, so I guess that evens things out. Good thing, too; I don’t think I know any other girls well enough to ask them to be a bridesmaid for me. Adam and I agreed that it kind of hurts a little to be second place, but that it’s also not a real reflection of how the person feels about you. It’s just how things go, especially when you live so far away and you’re friends with people who have a lot of artistic committments.
I have to get my measurements done by a seamstress so that my dress designer (who is in Ontario) can start working on stuff for me. Also I need to go looking for material for him to use: apparently there’s a poor selection of fabric shops in London Ontario. I think it makes sense for me to pick out the materials anyhow… not that I don’t trust his judgement, but I do know that he’d probably feel better about it if I picked it out. I just wish I knew something… anything… about how to choose material. All I know is that he’s going to need silk and lace. How many kinds of silk are there? I know there’s lots of different lace… but what makes it good? GAH!
Does anyone locally want to help me on this one? I don’t want to go alone…
