Finally: Wedding Changes Announcement

All right then. I know of one person who’s interested in hearing about this, at least.

Our wedding is going to be held on a Cruise Ship in Vancouver’s port. We will board the ship (with people also going on the cruise and with people who only want to attend the ceremony and leave the cruise afterwards – let us know if you want to do that, you locals and semi-locals) and have the ceremony, then leave port and go to Alaska. Yay Alaska!

Upon returning to shore, we will fly back to Ontario for our reception on Sept. 4th in Temagami, at the Lodge. If you were planning on coming to the wedding, please plan to still come to the reception – it’s all about the party anyway, right? We may do a dramatic (see also: silly) re-enactment of the wedding. That means I get to wear my dress twice!!!!

Now to deal with what plans we’ve already set into motion. I don’t know what to do about them yet.

We’re doing this so we don’t have to deal with nearly as many family politics, and so that our reception can be a fun semi-formal party for us and our friends instead of something that’s trying to make everyone happy. Also, this way any friends we may have made in Vancouver by that time (all three of them, so far) can attend, which is cool. Plus we get to go on a cruise.

That sounds like such a good plan! My mom got married on a cruise ship last year, and we were able to watch it via web cam feed! Will your ceremony have that access? I’d love to watch/attend 😉

I’m not sure, but that would be pretty damn cool if it did. I’ll find out when we know what cruise we’re taking, with which company and such.

On Monday, July 5th, 2004, the world will celebrate the union of Ms.
Lynn Xxxxx and Mr. Philip Xxxxx aboard the Sapphire Princess on its way
to Alaska at 11:00 am (Pacific time)….or 1:00 pm our time (CDT).

Anyway, you should be able to view the wedding via the internet by
going to the Princess web site and using the following links.

    http://www.princess.com/

Click the tab on the web page for “Ships”.

You’ll see under the Grand Class category the link for the Sapphire
    Princess. Click it.

    The URL should be: http://www.princess.com/ships/sa/index.html.

Under the photo of the ship you’ll see “Bridge Cams”. Click “Go >>” to
open the cams window. The window should open to the Sapphire Princess
Bridge. Regardless use the pop-up menu to select the wedding cam and
click the “Go” button. The image should refresh to show the chapel
where you can view the wedding as it happens.

If you’d like you can visit the ship and get some information on our

I think that makes a lot of sense, as much as I’d like to be at your actual wedding…looks like I will have to be one of the webcam voyeurs for the ceremony…

BTW…thanks for the wonderful excuse to get back up to Temagami for a party 😉

Nope. Much further north. It’s the lodge I used to work at in Temagami. It’s about 5 hours drive on highway 17 from Ottawa. here’s their website: http://www.smoothwater.com
