Follow the instructions to create your own album cover

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. *I don’t like this one, as it doesn’t use specifically creative commons licensed images, and stealing licensed photos from Flickr is wrong. I reloaded until I found one that I could use under the appropriate creative commons license (to share, to remix, noncommercial.) Because I’m just that kind of girl.

Post-christmas haze

Christmas at mom’s was nice. We took a car from the the Car Co-op out to my mom’s place, mellowed out there all day, then came home to sleep. I got snowshoes from Adam, they are truly awesome. Now to set up some snowshoeing dates.

Yesterday we went in to Vancouver and played board/card games at Wolf’s house. We played Citadels, Puerto Rico, and Carcassone, for nearly 11 hours of gaming funness. Today Adam is working (early shift ew) but will be home soon I think. It’s been rain/snow/slushing out all day – pretty miserable and wet, really. I should go out and get some groceries, but I’ve been lazy. I did do some cleanup and took out the recycling, but that’s as ambitious as I got. Maybe I’ll meet Adam on his way home at the Grocereteria or something. I should really get out of the house, even if it is miserable out.

I am considering knitting myself some simple slippers. Anyone got a good pattern out there? Preferably easy, because I am lazy and lack attention span for complicated things.

Merry Christmas to my friends!

Hi all, and merry merry christmas (or whatever you’d like to proclaim this holiday season – I’m considering calling it Apple Pie Extravaganza.) Here’s a holiday video:

Snowshoeing!!

I’m going snowshoeing tomorrow (probably?) Yay!

I haven’t had any good exercise in at least a couple of weeks, so I’m really looking forward to this. I have become sedentary, which is bad. Just have to confirm with a co-worker that she can use the car, and then we’ll head off to the top of one of the mountains (Cypress, I’m guessing) where we’ll tramp about in the snow till the sun goes down. Whee!

I’ll have to rent some shoes, of course. Eventually, if this keeps up, I’ll have to buy some… I rather enjoy snowshoeing.

The camera hasn’t been put to much use lately, which is sad. I’ll be bringing it along if it’s not miserable out. I haven’t posted any pictures at all lately, mostly because I haven’t taken any.

Bored on holiday…

Thursday: Day four at home alone on vacation time (office closed due to holidays.) While I’m enoying the time to rest and relax, I’m also starting to go stir crazy – especially now that it’s actually sunny and nice out today, and I can’t think of anything to do but laundry (ew.)

I suppose I could go to the Bay in West Vancouver and use my gift card, but I’d probably just spend more money than I should right now. It should probably wait until after Christmas anyway – the last place I want to be right before Christmas is a mall.

Adam just sent me a text message that he was coming home an hour early today. That’ll be nice – maybe he’ll think of something we can do with our free time this afternoon.

There’s fresh new snow on the mountains again. It’s so lovely, and I wish I could be skiing or snowshoeing or something. I’m starting to think snowshoes would be a good investment – I really like doing it, and I actually CAN do it (as opposed to skiing, which is gear-heavy, intensive, expensive, and dangerous for clumsy people like me.) Snowshoes are (relatively) inexpensive, and you don’t need any more gear than the shoes themselves (and maybe some poles.)

I guess to entertain myself I could play some neverwinter nights 2, but that just seems wrong when we have a sunbreak like this…

Not sure I’ve ever seen a gnomish Druid/Ranger….

I Am A: Neutral Good Gnome Druid/Ranger (2nd/2nd Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength-12
Dexterity-11
Constitution-12
Intelligence-16
Wisdom-15
Charisma-12

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Gnomes are in wide demand as alchemists, inventors, and technicians, though most prefer to remain among their own kind in simple comfort. Gnomes adore animals, gems, and jokes, especially pranks. They love to learn by personal experience, and are always trying new ways to build things. Gnomes stand 3 to 3.5 feet tall and live about 350 to 500 years.

Primary Class:
Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid’s Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

Secondary Class:
Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter’s dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger’s Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

Hooray for time off!

I’m off work until January 2! I plan to relax and rest and clean the apartment.

It’s been drizzling since I got up this morning – not the most pleasant weather, but I don’t think I can stay in the house all day. I was thinking about going to the giant West Van mall, Park Royal. They have a Roots store, and Roots has a sale on right now I think. Also, I have a gift card from the Bay to spend on myself, and they have a Bay there too.

Adam’s working all week, 7 – 3:30 or something, so I’ve got the days to myself. I’ve been pretty tired out lately so I am taking some time to decompress, but it’s quiet and weird in the house with just me and the cats. They don’t seem to mind, however – they love it when one or both of us are home during the day.

For Christmas Adam’s dad sent him a PS3. To accomodate this PS3, I got together with family and friends, saved up a bunch of cash without him knowing, and bought a new 32″ widescreen HDTV. It was supposed to wait until Christmas came, but the ps3 arrived early so I had to go pick up the tv too. Needless to say, we now have an awesome tv. Hopefully Beautiful Katamari will come out on PS3 soon…

Weirdness and pregnancy

I am moody – not all that weird. My lack of morning sickness hasn’t bothered me at all, but the people who freak out and call me strange when they learn that I don’t have said morning sickness is starting to make me feel like the whole ‘pregnant’ thing is really just a hoax – like I’m not really pregnant, it was a false positive or my body’s just acting insane for no reason.

Nothing like not believing you’re actually pregnant! At some point I’ll probably believe it. Just not quite yet. It’s all well and good that Adam’s all over the concept… I guess I need more sinking in or something.

And no, this doesn’t mean that I want morning sickness, thanks.

My sleep has been weird, in the sense that I’ve needed a lot more of it. Plus, I’m apparently more active than usual in my sleep – tossing around and making lots of noise, Adam tells me. My dreams have definitely been strange, although I don’t really remember much of them. They’re not linear at all (my dreams often are at least tenuously linear) and they’re full of random people. Plus I snap awake sometimes in the middle of the night, then fall right back to sleep. Last night I woke up needing water desperately. And every morning I wake up with a dry, almost sore throat. I may have to ask Adam not to turn the fan on at night anymore. Maybe that will help.

This morning I have a headache, and I might be catching some sort of cold. I’m sincerely hoping not, since cold meds aren’t something I plan to take.
