Photos from yesterday!

Adam, our friend Sean and I went out for a ride on Burnaby Mountain in Burnaby, BC yesterday morning. We start at the North Road parking lot where we leave the cars and proceed to ride through the lower trails (cross-country style) and then up the mountain to the top to Simon Fraser University. The plan was to ride down Nicole’s trail, and that is precisely what we did, after the long climb. It being only our second ride in the past three months, it was a slow climb with a few breaks and walked sections.

I brought the camera and put the new flash through its paces. It rained a little.

I’ve edited the photos and posted them in My Gallery, as well as on my flickr page. Below the cut I will place a selection of my favourites from the ride:

Adam wiping out and hitting a tree: the moment of helmet to tree impact. There are actually more in the wipeout series (the leadup, the aftermath), if you go to the page. No worries, he’s fine, the helmet absorbed the impact.

I kind of miss mountain biking, I mean I never did it in any actual mountains. Me and my friends would ride around lake accotink looking for the muddiest puddliest areas so we could splash dirt all over ourselves and return to our girlfriends looking all hardcore. I don’t think it impressed them as much as we hoped.

In my slowness to reply to comments this week, I missed this one. heh.

Anyhow, that image amuses me for some reason. I kind of like wiping out in mud puddles just because it makes me look more hardcore 😉

It’s fun when there are real mountains involved! I’ve learned this in the past couple of years, since we moved to the west coast…
