We find huge slugs in the woods here, usually after its been raining, and they are a light brown to yellow color. We call them banana slugs.

are those actually banana slugs? i thought they had to be yellow ?( might be an asumption from my brain ) but i remember seeing banana slugs at the museaum of nature a couple of years ago. Theyre defense mechanism is to become SUPER ULTRA SLIMY AND COVERED IN MUCUS so that they are hard/impossible to swallow or chew because they are so sticky! but i can’t remember what colour they were!

p.s. THANK YOU FOR POSTING MORE SLUGS JENNY!!!

We call these ones banana slugs too… especially the yellowish-brown with blacks spots. Like a banana going bad…

        You’re welcome 😀

The black guys decked out in brown is the flavor of slug around here. I have yet to see a yellow, black, or speckled one. Slugs are so exciting.
