I rescued a cat tonight. It was an obviously indoor cat running around outside. It ran into the coffee shop where we were waiting for our laundry to finish drying. She definitely didn’t act like it was comfortable with being outside (trying to go in every open door she found, shivering and staring at cars and streetcars going by as if they were foreign beasts coming to eat her,) so I picked her up and took her home, where we put her into a small kennel and hid her from Dayle and Sera.
Since we couldn’t keep her here overnight (no need to upset what tenuous balance there is in Dayle’s personality) and no one around here was willing to take her in until the vet opens up tomorrow morning, we took her to the Humane Society and dropped her off there. Fortunately, she has a microchip, which means they should be able to find out who she belongs to reasonably easily. And chances are the people who lost her will probably be looking for her shortly.
So no one wants a wee slipper? Hmm. maybe I should just unravel it then. At least I know how to size things now. Definitely need bigger needles. These ones are really too tiny.
