These days there’s not much else going on besides work.
The transit ride isn’t so bad. I’m dealing, anyhow. It’s usually 2 to 2 1/2 hours for me to get to and from work. Generally I give myself 3 hours and get there early, so I just hang out on top of the mountain with a cup of tea. I could really get to enjoy that.
I need a waterproof coat, however. It rains a lot here. I left all of my coats back in Ontario, they’re going to be shipped someday. Supposedly our things will be shipped in the next few days – the pickup was arranged yesterday, but they still haven’t actually picked it up today yet. Blasted. There is a coat that I want to buy at the mountain, and it’s on sale and I get a discount, but I can’t spend the money yet.
What’s more frustrating is, after telling Adam they’d give him 5 days a week of work, Mountain Equipment Co-op has changed their mind and are keeping him as an on-call person. His only shift he’s aware of so far is almost half-way through November. This creates two somewhat major issues.
1) Adam is so bored he’s starting to get depressed
2) We won’t have enough money to move out of Pitt Meadows for an extra month at least, which means I’ll be doing the three hour commute for two and a half months.
One and a half months I could handle, and if I need to, I’ll get through two and a half, but it’s going to be rough. Especially on weeks like this one, where I’m working from Thursday (yesterday) through until next Thursday without a day off. This is the beginning of the test, I suppose.
I have to get a user icon for the mountain.
