Adam, Tara and I have returned from our adventures on Vancouver Island. Tofino was lovely, as per all reports, although the hail, snow, thunderstorm, windstorm, and freezing temperatures were rather unfortunate camping conditions.
I’ll talk more about it when I’m done with the photos, because really, this is a story that requires photos.
In the meantime, highlights and thoughts:
Holy crap I want to learn to surf. When it’s warm, and not ice-raining or hailing on me.
Four hour waits for a ferry can actually be pretty entertaining if you do it right.
Humpback whales are cool enough to look at, but seals are more entertaining somehow.
Victoria is very reminiscent of Ottawa
The road to Tofino is really freakin’ scary when it snows.
Seafood on the west coast of Vancouver island is like no seafood I’ve ever had before.
