I woke up early this morning to the sound of a cartoon in the distance. Bleary-eyed, wandering out to the office, I found Adam sitting at his computer with headphones on, and no cartoon playing at all – probably coming from another apartment, or from somewhere in my subconscious. I sat down on the love seat and looked out the window. The light outside was soft; early morning sun coming from the side instead of above, and a sense of quiet outside.
Adam was easy to convince when I said I wanted to go for a walk and maybe get a cup of tea. We headed outside, where it was finally warm enough to not need a jacket, and walked around for a while up and down various streets, stopping for tea and a muffin.
After a little while we came back home and I took a seat here on the couch. Adam has since lay down for a nap, since he was up at 5:30 this morning for no discernible reason, and I’ve been looking out the window at the sparrows landing on my balcony, vying for each others attention. Sera has also been quite interested in this process.
I think I can finally accept that spring has arrived.
